Thank you!Wow, I can’t believe that I was nominated let alone have won the CN Award, Social Media Personality of the year 2018! A big thank you for Sian Porter who nominated me and to everyone that voted for me! Sarah and I were also nominated in 2016 for our blog, but we were beaten by Dietitian Catherine Collins (well deserved as she is brilliant on twitter). So going on to win this time is amazing! The CN (Complete Nutrition) awards were launched in 2010 to recognise the achievements of those whose work has made a significant difference within the nutrition industry – whether an individual, group or organisation. You can read the full list of winners here.
Below is Sian’s nomination for me…Louise works as a specialist dietitian in the NHS, runs the blog Dietitian’s Life (www.dietitianslife.com) with her colleague Sarah Howe, is active across all social media and is a busy working mum. Last Summer (from 26/06/17 to 30/06/17) Louise took over the NHS Twitter feed @NHS and did an amazing job with with interesting and engaging tweets which promoted nutrition, dietitians as a profession and showcased the work they do and so much more. Louise is an entertaining presenter and regularly speaks about nutrition and social media at training days and events, encouraging other dietitians to get involved with excellent tips and advice. Louise should be applauded for all she does. It is acknowledged that the blog is a joint venture but the nomination is particularly for her work on the NHS Twitter. What a lovely nomination! I had great fun last summer showcasing the work of an NHS dietitian on the @NHS twitter feed – you can read about how I got on here.
Social MediaI enjoy running the blog ‘Dietitian’s Life’ and the social media pages, although I do find my pace a little slower than before! Now my children are not babies anymore I thought I would have more time, but oh no I was wrong! Keeping them entertained, helping with homework, ferrying about places, cooking, cleaning tidying… Oh and I nearly forgot about the 3 days I work in the NHS! I am sure you can relate!
